As part of my education, I had to do a lecture for the Med/Surg I class. Here's a link to my lecture on Vascular Disorders. It is just the PowerPoint with my voice over.

iHeart Touch app for iPad (and I believe it does work for iPhone/iTouch as well - nothing for Android, yet). Great, short computer animations of some big concepts - angioplasty, CABG, etc. Perfect for refreshers or even patient education. Thanks to Bethany Tucker for sharing! iTunes link to download This is a great online tool for practicing your ECG. It shows you continuous running strips to practice recognition. This is produced from SkillStat and their thought are that you need to have ready access to this knowledge as time counts and saves lives. Great practice for novice & expert nurse!
(And a thanks to the husband for telling me about it!) Link to 6 Second ECG Do you know of an awesome app or website that would be great to share?? Please feel free to contact me or I am frequently asked by my students about resources to help them in the clinical area. Here are a couple of my favorites. The first is a clean concise video on sepsis, including the current updated guidelines. The second video is a classic - literally. However, if you struggle at all with EKG rhythms, this one is for you! Keep in mind, his arms are the atrium and his legs are the ventricles. Trust me, it will make sense! Enjoy! |
